Creche & Kidspace Collaborators Call out

We will be running a drop-off crèche and kids/families space at the anarchist bookfair – and we’re both inviting folks to use the space and to collaborate on making it work!

Options for getting involved
· 1/2 day paid childcare as crèche coordinator: you hold a DBS, have experience in supporting conflicting needs in mixed age contexts, if possible have 1st aid, and are comfortable following crèche regulations. You can have an independent/ 7+ yr old child with you for this role.

· 2 hr core volunteer slots: informal or formal childcare experience helpful, DBS helpful. You can have your own child/a child you know with you for this role. Core volunteers will increase the capacity of the space but will be asked to follow direction of the crèche coordinator on shift to follow crèche regulations.

· Activity offer or resource loan/donation. We’ll be based in a contained room and in the garden so would appreciate indoor and outdoor toys/games for children of all ages.

· Drop in volunteer – help out when you can on the day: we’re anarchists, and this space will work by everyone helping out as they’re able – as well as some known filled slots.

 
How the crèche/kidspace will work
· For drop off crèche childcare, you can sign up to request slots in advance, which must be confirmed on the day so that remaining availability can be assigned first come first served. Adults may leave the premises to attend workshops in other premises but must remain contactable, and can leave a child for up to one slot (~1.5hrs) at a time (spaces on first sign up first served).

Children can be left for up to two non-consecutive slots over the course of the day. These children will remain under the supervision of the crèche worker until collected. 

· Kidspace: Accompanied children, or older independent children are welcome to drop into the space, where there will be crafts, toys, books and a quiet zone.
