Creche & Kidspace Collaborators Call out

We will be running a creche and kids/families space at the anarchist bookfair. One experienced rad childcare worker (Bess: nature.advice88 on signal) is involved and doing some set-up, admin & being a worker in the space if needed. They’re seeking collaborators

Options for getting involved:
1/2 day paid childcare as creche coordinator: you hold a DBS, have experience in supporting conflicting needs in mixed age contexts, if possible have 1st aid, and are comfortable following creche regulations: see https://www.resourcecentre.org.uk/information/organising-a-crche/
You can have an independent/ 7+ yrold child with you for this role

2 hr core volunteer slots: informal or formal childcare experience helpful, dbs helpful. You can have your own child/a child you know with you for this role. Core volunteers will increase the capacity of the space but will be asked to follow direction of the creche coordinator on shift to follow creche regulations.

Activity offer or resource loan/donation. We’ll be based in a contained soft play area but would love help with additional resources and activities

Drop in volunteer – help out when you can on the day: we’re anarchists, and this space will work from everyone helping out as they’re able – as well as some

How the crèche/kidspace will work:
For drop off creche childcare, you can sign up to request slots in advance, which must be confirmed on the day so that remaining availability can be assigned first come first served. Adults must remain in the building and contactable, and can leave a child for up to 3.5 hrs (spaces on first sign up first served). These children will remain under the supervision of the creche worker until collected.

Kidspace: Accompanied children, or older independent children are welcome to drop into the space, where there will be crafts, toys, books and a quiet zone
