We feel that it is vital that the Bookfaair is as widely accessible as we can make it, working where we can to enhance the spaces and provide support. To list some of the provisons.
– The stalls so that where possible there will be ~2m wide pathways and additional seating located throughout.
– A covid-safer relaxing and eating space.
– We’ll have first aid and mental welfare teams roaming through-out the day.
– The first hour of the bookfair, what we’re calling “First Watch” between 10:30am and 11:30am is specifically set aside for not only a heighten consciousness of disease control with masks keenly encouraged where suitable, but we will also been keeping general noise and clatter to a minimum. If you or any of your party have mobility or sensory issues, we particularly recommend this part of the day to get the stalls in.
– Closed captions system in workshops.
– A minibus to ferry folk to the other venues.
– Specific stall locations for enhanced accessibility, ensuring ease of access, near facilities, no step etc. (please contact us if you require one of these stalls)
Below is a short guide to the spaces we’ll be using with some concerns we’ve noted alongside information of toilet access, stepped area, and door widths and the like. At the very least we hope this guide will help you plan your day accordingly.
These details should all be considered a “work in progress” and we’ll be updating them as we finalise plans.
